Clients Who Inspire Me
I am fortunate because I get to work with some really amazing clients—people who are making a difference in the world. I am moved to tell you about some of them here:

Randy and Linda Smith and JoJo, the Boston Terrier, moved to Los Alamos from Columbus, Ohio in 2008. Randy accepted a position with the county as the Recreation Division Manager. Randy’s staff manages the county’s golf course, ice rink, aquatic center and other facilities and special programs and events around the county. His division does much to enhance the livability of Los Alamos County. Linda came to Los Alamos to work as a teacher at Barranca Elementary. She works with both the talented and gifted program and the special needs students. Says Linda: “We love our house, our neighbors are great and we are having a lot of fun exploring the area!

When Georgina Williams and her two children Henry and Evelyn decided to move into a new home, she didn’t take the path of least resistance. She bought a small home in a great neighborhood that needed a LOT of work. “Basically I spent the summer working with a crew rebuilding my house,” says Georgina.  She had a vision and the results are fantastic! Today, Georgina, her children and their Australian Shepherd puppy are happily putting down roots in Western Area. In addition to being a great mom and a strong woman with a vision, Georgina gives much back to her community. She is a licensed therapist and works as a counselor and prevention specialist with the Los Alamos County Public Schools. She also does outreach with a number of youth organizations through her affiliation with the Los Alamos Juvenile Justice Advisory Board.

Ed & Carolyn Bush
have spent more than half a century in Los Alamos! They moved here after several peripatetic years living all over the country. A mechanical engineer by training, Ed worked for almost 40 years at the Los Alamos National Lab’s linear accelerator. Some of the work that Ed participated in included isolating medical isotopes—a technology that today is used in hospitals around the world. Since retirement, Ed & Carolyn have obligations and travel schedules that would exhaust couples half their age. They are celebrating their 55th anniversary on a river excursion along the Adriatic in the spring. But why Los Alamos? Carolyn explains, “We hopped around so much during the war and we wanted to put down roots in a place that was good to raise a family in. The size of the community, the weather, the outdoor recreational opportunities made this an ideal choice.”
